Pop Music Icon Michael Jackson's Life of Fame Ends at 50.

Michael Jackson, the child prodigy turned King of Pop who set the world tapping and dancing ,but whose life was always groped by controversies, a bizarre lifestyle and sex scandals, died on Thursday 25th June 2009 at the age of 50.The cause of death was not known though sources claim it is a cardiac arrest. An autopsy would likely take place on Friday, which would ascertain the exact cause of the death.
Michael Joseph Jackson was born Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary. He started singing at the tender age of with his brothers — Marlon, Jermaine, Jackie and Tito — in the Jackson 5, but he always stood out with his polished vocals and dance moves. After his early success he began his solo career in 1971, generating explosive and unstoppable music. As a solo artist, he has recorded five of the worlds' best selling albums: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and History (1995). He was perhaps the most exciting performer of his generation, known for his feverish, crotch-grabbing dance moves and his high-pitched voice punctuated with squeals and titters. He was the Moonwalker, the Man in the Mirror, he was Bad but not Dangerous, Off the wall and yet the guy who most of us tried to emulate on the dance floor when we were young.
One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records
- including one for Most Successful Entertainer of All Time
- 13 Grammy Awards
- 13 number one singles in his solo career more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era.
But Jackson's belief that "I am Peter Pan in my heart", his preference for the company of children, his friendship with a chimp, his high-pitched voice and numerous plastic surgeries also earned him critics and the nickname "Wacko Jacko."Jackson, who had lived as a virtual recluse since his acquittal in 2005 on charges of child molestation, had been scheduled to launch a comeback tour from London next month. The King of Pop was under immense pressure to perform a series of epic concerts in London as part of his "This Is It" tour , sources claim.
Most of our childhood days were spent listening to his amazing songs and moving to his dance steps.
Michael Jackson, the ``King of Pop'' who once moonwalked above the music world is no more . All I can say is he was and would remain one of the most legendary pop singers of all times.Adieu Jacko. REST IN PEACE.
Feels sad to realize that icons whom we grew with idolizing are no more. Gives me an eerie feeling of growing old and running short of icons/idols. Michael will always remain in my heart as someone who brought me to the world of pop music, the first singer/icon from the western world that i began to idolize, listen to. There will never be another "King of Pop" and thanks for all the pleasures, happiness that we derived listening to your music
ReplyDeleteAn enigma who refuses to live and die without controversies.A supremely gifted artist, who beyond doubt, could be regarded as the greatest and the most popular entertainer of our times.I doubt ,whether any person can sing and dance simultaneously, with such flair, as MJ did...
