Teenage comic hero Archie gets hitched!

Archie comics were a big part of my childhood. But I stopped reading them years ago and didn't even realize they were still making them.

Archie Comics is an American comic book publisher. It was created in 1941 by publisher/editor John L. Goldwater, written by Vic Bloom and drawn and created by Bob Montana. They are known for its many series featuring the fictional teenage Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Reggie Mantle and Forsythe "Jughead" Jones among the other many character's.

Archie is a typical small-town teenager who studies at Riverdale High School, and is also a lead singer of The Archies band. He is known to be a well-mannered lad but at times clumsy. As a normal teenager, Archie goes ga-ga over pretty girls. Archie has been involved in a romantic triangle with Betty and Veronica, and this has become the hallmark of the Archie stories since the character was created more than 60 years ago.

Now we hear that Archie has finally decided to take the plunge and get hitched to Veronica Lodge in the 600Th issue of the series, leaving the goody Betty Cooper heartbroken.All of his fans are a Lil shocked by Archies "stupid" choice of the rich spoilt brat over the "sensible" middle class lass.Well to think about it Veronica is a head strong girl who sticks by her point of view, and does things as per her whims and fancies. Since Archie's character too is similar his decision doesn't come as a real surprise.All we can do is wait to read the edition of "THE PROPOSAL" which will be at comic specialty shops on August 19, and sold at newsstands on September 1, 2009 in the United States.

Archies choice of the rich girl comes so appropriately at the time of recession. Way to go Archie boy!

Getting Ready The All Hearts Tour by Shreya Ghoshal, on 30th November at LB Stadium in Hyderabad was a concert to look forward to. Our first experience of a Shreya Ghoshal concert, we took a less tiring approach to travelling by metro to the concert, avoiding the traffic induced pressure, anxieties and long waits. Travel by metro was a breeze. For the concert scheduled to start at 7 PM, we reached the stadium around 6:15 PM. The stadium was a short walk from the “Assembly” metro station. At the stadium, quickly headed to the ticket counters to gather the wrist band for entry into the designated viewing areas. A gold class ticket with seating that cost Rs.2,300/ticket, was too far from the stage, though the viewing area was within the grounds and not the stadium seating (which was silver).
