HyperCITY in Hyderabad

Hyderabad now has a new landmark, HyperCITY, much to the delight of all shopping aficionados. Hypercity Retail India, which operates a chain of hypermarket format retail stores under ‘HyperCITY’ brand name across India, opened its fourth store in Hyderabad on 31st July, 2009, following its other 3 outlets at Malad, Vashi (both in Mumbai) and Jaipur.

The new HyperCITY outlet spread over 100,000 sq ft of trading space located in InOrbit Mall boasts of wide aisles and 20 checkout counters, providing shoppers with an exhilarating international shopping experience (my first expression was Wow...beyond Walmartish)

As per the article from indiaretailbiz, HyperCity Hyderabad like its counterparts in Mumbai and Jaipur offers a wide array of over 44,000 products under fresh, food and grocery, home entertainment, technical appliances, furniture, sports, toys, fashion accessories and footwear categories. These products are being sourced from vendors located in India and abroad. HyperCITY is also looking at setting up laundry, pharmacy, bakery, ATM, and other services at the mall.

HyperCity Retail India is from K Raheja group, who also owns the real-estate venture, InOrbit Mall. The retailing company is also partly owned by leading department store format retailer Shoppers Stop (also a K Raheja group company).

Getting Ready The All Hearts Tour by Shreya Ghoshal, on 30th November at LB Stadium in Hyderabad was a concert to look forward to. Our first experience of a Shreya Ghoshal concert, we took a less tiring approach to travelling by metro to the concert, avoiding the traffic induced pressure, anxieties and long waits. Travel by metro was a breeze. For the concert scheduled to start at 7 PM, we reached the stadium around 6:15 PM. The stadium was a short walk from the “Assembly” metro station. At the stadium, quickly headed to the ticket counters to gather the wrist band for entry into the designated viewing areas. A gold class ticket with seating that cost Rs.2,300/ticket, was too far from the stage, though the viewing area was within the grounds and not the stadium seating (which was silver).
