Siaa
One Alliance group who got us Fusion9,Liquids and Bottles and chimenys has come up with a radically different restaurant known as Siaa.It is an awesome place for great Indian fusion cuisine. They specialize in Pan Indian cuisine and offer the cuisine of 10 different states in India (first of a kind in Hyderabad). It is strategically located at Road No.1, Jubilee Hills and offers one of the most distinctive dining experiences. The restaurant has a four level seating with a curving staircase leading from one level to the next. You can choose to laze around in the lounge (SPOIL) or choose to be at the indoor seating level which has a persian touch. But what we preferred was the open level seating i.e there is a single wall, done up entirely in glass, and gives a breathtaking view of the city. The lighting is dim and the tables looked like they had triangular pieces of marble stuck on them with lighting below.
Due to the dim lighting a torch is also provided along with the menu for easier visibility. The USP of the restaurant is that it serves the otherwise regular Indian food with a global twist. They have out of the box combinations like okra n mango curry, lotus stem and spinach, etc etc. While the main courses are simple variations on well known dishes, the starters are quite creatively cooked.Cheese marinated chicken with caramelized pineapple ,stuffed sweet mangoes, served on bruschettas with garlic chutney, and prawns on thepla are just some of the creative items listed in the menu.We tried the Tender coconut and Prawn Rasam which was a tangy and spicy appetizer(sure to shoo away your sneezes/cold ).We tried the starter which was flat green patties with poha placed on triangular rotis .
In the main course, we tried the Kerala Parotha with Stew (which wasn't authentic enough) .The must-try-outs there have heard are Kairi Bhindi (lady fingers with sweet and sour mango), phool gucchi and dhingri biryani (a blend of lotus seeds, morels and mushrooms in basmati) and raan gongura (lamb with tangy local greens). They also have a decent dessert platter that serves an assortment of classical Indian desserts or a range of western delicacies like toasted hazelnut parfait with topped espresso cream or hilli chocolate & cointreau tart with ganache of chocolate and a dollop of honey mascarpone, just to mention some of them.
The service was excellent and prompt.Though the prices are on the higher side this place is a must try for the creative cuisine they offer.
