Usain Bolt smashes the 100-Meter Record

As Usain Bolt (the Jamaican sprinter) crossed the finish line at the Track and Field World Championships in Berlin on Aug 16 2009, he looked at his record-setting time on the clock and ran slowly and steadily past the cheering fans. Standing tall at 6 feet 5 inches Bolt finished the race in 33 strides, ahead of Tyson Gay (9.71) and Asafa Powell (9.84).The Jamaican broke his own world record on Sunday, running 100 meters in 9.58 seconds which was 0.11 seconds faster than the mark he set last year at the Beijing Olympics (9.69 secs)."I don't run for world records'' "I know I said 9.4,'' Bolt said, grinning, who crossed the line soaring like a bird. Before climbing into the blocks, Bolt gave spectators a quick wave and did his trademark bow-and-arrow pose.

Both Bolt and Gay were to meet again in the 200m, which starts this week, unfortunately the defending 200m champion Tyson Gay, who finished second to Bolt in the 100m final, didn't show for the heats because of a groin injury although he remains hopeful of being fit enough to compete in the 4x100m relay later in the week.

Usain Leo Bolt, born on 21 August 1986, holds the world record for the 100 meters at 9.58 seconds, the 200 meters at 19.30 seconds and, along with his teammates, the 4x100 meters relay at 37.10 seconds. Bolt also holds the Olympic record in the 100 meters at 9.69 seconds and is the first man to win all three events at a single Olympics since Carl Lewis in 1984, and the first man in history to set world records in all three at a single Olympics. His name and achievements in sprinting have earned him the nickname "'Lightning Bolt".

Is he a super-human or something??..I wonder
