The best part of the movie is that there is a little bit of Sid (if not total) in everyone one of us and we easily relate with the protagonist .

The movie is about a happy go lucky lad Sidharth Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor) who is irresponsible and immature and the transformation of his life after the failure in his final year exams. His life revolves around his two best friends, Rishi (Namit Das) and Laxmi (Shikha Talsania). He has a doting mother Sarita (Supriya Pathak) who he rarely communicates with and lavishes on the hard earned wealth of his father Ram Mehra (Anupam Kher)..The most important elements in his life are his camera , friends, car, and his X-box 360. Ayesha Banerjee (Konkona Sen Sharma), an aspiring writer from Kolkata comes to Mumbai in search of a job and bumps into Sid the day she lands in the city of her dreams. She is a strong headed, mature, modern, and ambitious woman, who soon finds compatibility with Sid .The wake up call for Sid rings with a series of unlikely events in his life, which persuade him to take stock of his life. The good part about the ‘transformation’ that Sid undergoes in the movie is that it comes over a period of time, not overnight or within the space of a song.

Ayan Mukerji’s direction is top notch. The movie has an original and refreshing story with no over the top drama and the kind of debut that made Farhan Akhtar hot property after “Dil Chahta Hai”.Ranbir Kapoor is fabulous, maybe one of his best performances ,though he is only a few movies old. Konkana Sen Sharma is good yet again (the role she plays is of a older woman) and keeps pace with Ranbir Kapoor.Music by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy is fantastic. There are no dance routines, which is a welcome change. Songs are blended beautifully with the movie (no actual song sequences but in the background) and Wake Up Sid and Iktara are my personal favourites. Cinematography is great too. Mumbai has been captured beautifully.

Finally, after a very long time we get to see a real "FEEL GOOD" movie .
